WRCV completes writeshop with Philippine Network for Food Security Programmes (PNFSP)

The staff of Women’s Resource Center of Visayas Inc. (WRCV) has successfully completed the ‘Project Proposal Writeshop’ organized by Philippine Network for Food Security Programmes (PNFSP). The 3-day writeshop aims to further enhance the capacity of PNFSP’s network members in writing project proposals that generates resources and invites support from different organizations, agencies and institutions.

“The training was a good avenue to refresh the lessons I gained in my year of experience in proposal writing,” said Sarah Dayoha, executive director of WRCV. Dayoha also emphasized the need for development workers like her to update the lessons so that they can better serve its communities.

Angel Rose Trocio, WRCV’s education and training officer, said that she learned the value of ‘trusting the process’.

“The process of doing a project does not start in our board rooms. It starts in the communities where the actual crisis are experienced by warm bodies. We need to trust the capacity of our communities to identify their problems and from there, we can help them draw out resolutions for their problems,” elaborates Trocio.

Meanwhile, Noemi Padernal, administrative officer, said she’s pleased to have heard the ‘good practices’ of other PNFSP member organizations.

WRCV shall utilize the lessons learned from the writeshop to fulfill its mandate to empower grassroots women and children in poor communities in Cebu through launching and implementing more pro-people projects and programs.
