In San Fernando, the livelihood project of detergent powder business which was startedby the three sitio-level women’s organizations in Sitios Lower Luknay, Lawis and Pantalan inBarangay South Poblacion last October 2022 has continued up to the present.The Sitio Lower Luknay Women’s Organization, Sitio Lawis Women’s Organization andSitio Pantalan Women’s Organization sell packs of detergent powder at 60 grams and 500grams with a minimal profit of 3 pesos and 25 pesos respectively, to their fellow residents andplan to expand their markets to neighboring sitios.




The livelihood project in each sitio issustained by the committee on livelihood which is composed of 10 members each. The salesare pooled back to the capital to purchase more raw materials and produce more products andhave more sales.The Sawang Calero Women’s Organization has also started the same livelihood projectmaking and selling detergent powder. Their capital came from personal donations from theirmembers of P 100 each.
The first time they had the activity was on February 4, 2023 followedby March 4, 2023, which coincides with their regular monthly meeting on the first Saturday ofthe month. The activity was held after their meeting.The Calajoan Women’s Organization has also started its detergent powder businesswith capital from kind individuals solicited by the Social Work interns doing their communityinternship there.
Furthermore, the organization collaborated with the Social Work interns toaddress the garbage disposal problem in their barangay by asking for funds from the barangaycouncil to purchase garbage bins to be placed in strategic places in the barangay. There areplans for the leaders of the organization to attend the barangay council session in April topresent this proposal.
