Development Housing Project
The Cebu City Government is planning to build ten high-rise buildings as part of the
Cebu City South Coastal Urban Development (SCUD) housing project which will benefit about
8,000 informal settler families and low-wage earners in the city. The project is under the
current administration’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing Program.
The project had its groundbreaking ceremonies in Barangay San Nicolas last February 27, 2023. The
construction of the ten 20-storey buildings will have three phases, covering a total of 60
hectares of land area in Barangays Kinasang-an Pardo, Basak Pardo and Basak San Nicolas
(Phase 1), Inayawan, Mambaling and Cogon Pardo (Phase 2) and Duljo-Fatima and Sawang
Calero (Phase 3).
There will be a total of 270-meter strip along these barangays beyond the South
Reclamation Project (SRP) for the SCUD Project, according to a proposal of the Cebu City
Planning Development Office (CPDO) which was made known in a report on a local newspaper
on February 28, 2023.
