All women leaders’ project assessment and planning held April 8

A meeting of leaders of women’s organizations in Minglanilla and San Fernando was held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy in Poblacion, Minglanilla on April 8, 2022.

The meeting was attended by 20 officers of the women’s organizations in Tungkop, Tungkil, Tulay, and Calajoan in Minglanilla and South Poblacion, San Fernando.  These are partner organizations of the Women’s Resource Center of Visayas, Inc. in its current project.

The meeting followed the launching of the women’s alliance composed of  the five  organizations in  the Women’s Summit at the Casa Miani Arvedi Formation House in Barangay Cadulawan, Minglanilla  held on March 5, 2022,

During the meeting, the leaders reviewed the achievements including its various activities held, gains and lessons learned. They also committed again to take the cudgels of working for the welfare of their members. They affirmed their commitment to strengthen their ranks and relentlessly pursue their activities that will further unite their members so that they are in an effective position to lobby their demands with government authorities in the future.  The meeting also plotted out proposed plans for the organizations this year, including more trainings and seminars on laws related with violence against women, laws related with women’s rights, and other issues related with the women’s sector.  They also planned to get updates of the Minglanilla Reclamation Project which will be built in the coastlines of the four barangays and will affect the families living here whose houses will be demolished.
