The women’s organizations in Minglanilla and San Fernando participated in the Women’s Month Celebration last March.
In Minglanilla, the celebration was marked with a trade fair at the Municipal Plaza last March 10 – 13 by the 19 women’s organizations of Minglanilla. The four project women’s organizations had their own booths where they displayed and sold homemade food delicacies and handicrafts such as baskets, bags, purses, pouches and jewelry accessories that they made with their own hands. They also shared about their present issues to the other women’s organizations.
In San Fernando, the Women’s Month was celebrated with an unprecedented assembly of more than 500 members of the women’s organizations of the 21 barangays last March 30. During the celebration, Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Officer of San Fernando, Mario O. Ovile, gave a talk on the role of women during the elections, that women should continue to take an active role as voters, to get to know the platforms of the different candidates well before they cast their votes. The WRCV gave certificates of appreciation to all senior citizens who are members of the women’s federations as well as to their presidents.
