Forums on COVID-19 vaccination were conducted among the seven women’s organizations in June 2021. A total of 296 participants attended the seminars.
The forums discussed about basic knowledge about the vaccine, how it is used to prevent the infection, the efficacy and safety aspects, the side effects, and the process of availing of the vaccine. Doubts and questions as well as vaccine hesitancy were addressed by the resource persons. Due to the seminars, more women registered in the vaccination roll out in their barangays and got vaccinated. They were not only attended by the members but also barangay officials and barangay health workers. Some barangay councilors expressed their appreciation that the WRCV helped in clarifying to the women about the benefits of vaccination and dispelled fears due to side effects reported in the social media, thereby enhancing vaccination confidence and paved way for more people to be vaccinated. In Tungkop, the officials said that because of the seminar conducted, they were able to achieve 100 percent target of those to be vaccinated.
